The Coronavirus pandemic affects us all, directly or indirectly, and affects our daily lives and our lifestyles. We must reduce our travel and observe strict social distancing in an effort to minimize the spread of the virus. The government of Quebec has ordered to reduce to a minimum, starting Wednesday, March 25 at 12:01 a.m. and until May 4, 2020, all services and activities that are not priorities.
As a mover, Martel Express Montreal is considered an essential service for Quebecers and we must maintain our activities accordingly, taking into account public health directives. We have therefore canceled all non-essential deliveries or transport to centralize our workforce towards our equipment transport services for health services, financial services as well as essential moves. This reorganization in our structure also allows us to free up resources to help our community and support specialized resources for vulnerable clienteles and their loved ones such as community and municipal organizations (administration, public works, etc.) and food banks.
It is with great pride that we have dedicated a truck and its team to transporting food and various pick-ups and deliveries for Moisson Montréal since last week. We also make deliveries to YMCAs in Quebec, collective kitchens and youth centers free of charge with the aim of helping these resources meet the needs of people most deprived by COVID-19. We also helped Hudson’s Bay in its donation of several hundred packages of Easter chocolates for children last Monday by making the delivery. We are proud of the involvement of our staff and of being partners with Moisson Montréal in this initiative.
We don’t give up, it’s going to be fine!
